About this role
The Senior Virtual Desktop System Administrator will provide comprehensive support to Defence and National Intelligence Community customers by designing, building, testing and operating ICT systems and network services.
This includes the design, test and deployment of new versions of the Windows operating system, as well as the creation and maintenance of system images. Additionally, they will be responsible for providing integration for VMware and Citrix VDI Platforms.
Some key responsibilities include integrating and supporting management of security software and configurations, providing and developing VM image and template automation, implementing VDI performance monitoring and tool tuning for a dynamic network environment, and implementing regular checks to confirm system health status, including hardware and software.
A development and operation of a backup and recovery service for virtualised Windows systems is also required.
Key skills and qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience and qualifications in administering Omnissa (VMware EUC) and Citrix Cloud technologies are essential.
  • Deployment and imaging technology troubleshooting are crucial.
  • Demonstrated experience and qualifications in Microsoft server and desktop technologies (including Exchange, WSUS, MECM) and experience in Microsoft PowerShell scripting are desirable.
