Philanthropy Leadership Role

This is a unique opportunity to lead the growth of a philanthropic program at an esteemed medical research institution. As a senior philanthropy leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing donor-centric stewardship strategies that increase significant financial support and impact.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing high-value donor relationships, securing gifts, and ensuring long-term stewardship. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential in crafting compelling grant applications and tailored donor communications.

A collaborative approach is required to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, senior executives, board members, and key partners.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on real-world health challenges through research that leads to tangible clinical outcomes. The Westmead Institute for Medical Research focuses on tackling complex diseases such as cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, and neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure revenue across philanthropy programs
  • Leading the development and growth of positive relationships with high-value supporters
  • Developing and executing engagement and recognition strategies for all donors
  • Working strategically with stakeholders to identify new donor prospects
  • Ensuring a data-driven approach for decision making with emphasis on donor research and data integrity
Requirements:
  • Proven success in strategic fundraising initiatives with a focus on high-net-worth fundraising
  • Experience prospecting, cultivating, and leading strong relationships with high-net-worth individuals and foundations
  • Demonstrated success in managing high-value donor portfolios and leading the identification of prospects
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to craft compelling grant applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build authentic relationships with donors, researchers, and stakeholders
