Construction Traffic Operations Manager

Key roles and responsibilities of this position include overseeing and coordinating day-to-day traffic and transport activities on the construction site. This ensures adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The Traffic & Transport Supervisor will collaborate with construction crews, transportation providers, and project teams to coordinate vehicle and material logistics. This involves ensuring that traffic and transport activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.

Effective communication is essential in this role, as the Traffic & Transport Supervisor must facilitate communication between project teams, transportation authorities, and stakeholders regarding traffic management plans and updates.

Additional responsibilities include addressing traffic and transport-related challenges promptly to minimize disruptions and enhance efficiency. The Traffic & Transport Supervisor will also provide support in decision-making processes to optimize traffic flow and transport logistics.

This role requires proficiency in using traffic management software and tools to monitor and improve traffic and transport operations. The successful candidate will maintain accurate records of traffic management plans, incidents, and transportation schedules.

As a Traffic & Transport Supervisor, you will identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in traffic and transport operations. You will work collaboratively with construction crews, transportation teams, and other relevant stakeholders to achieve these goals.

The Traffic & Transport Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and materials on the construction site.

• Relevant certification or diploma in Traffic Management, Logistics, or a related field is desirable.
• White Card is required.

In addition to the above qualifications, the following skills are essential for this role:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in transport management, logistics, or a related role, preferably in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of tunnelling projects or similar large-scale construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience in coordinating traffic and transport logistics, including oversize/overmass and Performance Based Standards transports.
• Familiarity with traffic management software and tools.
• Familiarity with load restraint, loading/unloading, and transport safety requirements.
• Understanding of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) including Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and associated regulations.
• Proficient in coordinating traffic flow and transport logistics within a construction site.
• Ability to interpret loading and lashing plans, and transport engineering drawings.
• Ability to review and ensure compliance with transport permits and approvals.
• Ability to develop and review key safety documentation and risk assessments.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with project teams, transportation providers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to identify and address traffic and transport-related challenges promptly.
• Sound decision-making skills to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and materials.
• Proficiency using traffic management software, tools, and technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with construction crews, transportation teams, and other relevant stakeholders.
