As a Workplace Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our students, staff, and contractors. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert advice on accident prevention, hazard identification, health promotion, environmental, and risk issues affecting our community.
- Conducting proactive risk assessments and inspections at multiple workplace sites to identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Developing and coordinating training programs on health and safety topics to promote awareness and compliance with legislation and policies.
- Establishing and maintaining effective communication links with our Workplace Health and Safety Committee through regular reports and feedback.
- Facilitating our Workplace Health and Safety network by organizing committee meetings, performing secretariat duties, and providing professional development opportunities.
To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. You should also possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop creative solutions to complex problems.
