A highly experienced shipbuilding professional is required to lead the shipbuilding team at a prominent waterfront marine centre. The role involves overseeing all aspects of superyacht, power boat, and commercial vessel maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and managing a team of skilled contractors and internal resources.
  • Overseeing lifting, standing, and launching operations for vessels.
  • Managing projects from initiation to completion, including estimating labour costs.
  • Ensuring accurate purchase orders, job cards, and invoices are generated and communicated with staff, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Communicating effectively with customers to keep them informed about project progress.
  • Assisting in procurement of materials and hiring of staff as needed.
  • Representing the company at trade shows and special events as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with the Integrated Management System for Quality, Environment, and Workplace Health & Safety.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Shipwright or equivalent trade qualifications.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Marine rigging and boat building knowledge and experience.
  • White boat service and maintenance experience.
  • Boat and car driver licences.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Competency in MS Office products.
  • Fork Lift license and First Aid Certificates (not essential).
