Join Our Infrastructure Team

We are looking for a skilled Civil Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the delivery of a national fibre upgrade that will enhance digital connectivity for communities across the country.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on one of Australia's most significant infrastructure projects, delivering flexible work arrangements, stability and security, career development opportunities and a supportive team culture.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing work packages, ensuring delivery meets scope, quality and budget expectations. This includes planning and scheduling construction activities, coordinating traffic management and council approvals, overseeing defect closure and site restoration, and supporting procurement and financial reconciliation.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Plan and schedule construction activities to ensure timely delivery and meet project requirements.
  • Manage the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring accurate updates and reconciliations with construction progress.
  • Coordinate traffic management and council approvals to minimize disruptions and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee defect closure and site restoration to ensure high-quality finishes and minimal rework.
  • Support procurement and financial reconciliation processes to ensure efficient use of resources and accurate financial reporting.
  • Participate in safety inspections and toolbox talks to promote a safe working environment and identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to lessons learnt workshops to drive continuous improvement and share best practices within the team.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Civil Engineer with relevant experience in telecommunications or civil construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), and MS Project.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant experience in telecommunications or civil construction, preferably with Telco experience (Optus, Telstra, NBN).
  • Exposure to field operations and project coordination, with a strong understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as well as MS Project.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
