Job Title: Senior Farm Hand

Job Description:

The Senior Farm Hand is a key role in the daily operations of our farm, responsible for supporting crop production through planting, cultivation, and harvesting activities.

  • Assist with the planning, execution, and monitoring of crop growth and yield.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, including tractors and irrigation systems.
  • Perform regular checks on crops to identify potential issues and take corrective action.
  • Grade, sort, store, and treat harvested products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Recognise defective or sub-standard produce and implement procedures to address these issues.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Crop care tasks such as weeding, thinning, and pruning.
  • Basic machinery maintenance and cleaning.
  • Maintain accurate records of crop yields, pesticide use, and other relevant data.
  • Report any production, quality, or safety concerns promptly to management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in general farm duties such as planting, picking, and weed management.
  • Proven ability to operate tractor and irrigation systems safely and effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of machinery maintenance and repair.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
