About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief People Officer to lead our People and Culture function across the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a people and culture strategy that supports the overall direction of the Department.
  • Provide professional advisory and leadership across the HR, Talent Acquisition, Diversity and Inclusion, and Industrial Relations functions.
  • Lead the HR function and deliver strategic workforce programs, strategies, policies, and plans that are integrated with finance and other enabling functions.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in aligning people and performance to deliver positive business outcomes. You will have experience building and leading a people and culture function in a large and complex organisation.

You will be an industry expert in HR and IR functions and have the ability to provide timely, strategic, expert, and authoritative advice to the Secretary and Senior Leadership Team.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in human resources or significant and equivalent relevant experience.
  • Significant experience in industrial relations functions, particularly for complex, largely operational organisations.
