We are looking for a Technical Advisor to join our Scotland Field Operations team.

As a Technical Advisor, you will collaborate with Technical Team Leaders to ensure team members receive appropriate training and develop the necessary skills to carry out technical field work in line with quality standards.

The successful candidate will provide functional leadership to Animal Health Officers (AHOs), providing technical advice and support while ensuring quality and accuracy of work by AHOs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading AHOs and ensuring they maintain skills according to APHA policies;
  • Conducting quality assurance activities to identify training needs for AHOs;
  • Liaising with local TTLs to manage equipment requirements;

In addition, the candidate will support our Operational Readiness Manager (ORM) approximately 20% of their time, in developing outbreak and emergency response readiness plans and implementing disease outbreak responses.

Our ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of technical work processes and practical skills required for full technical field work.
