About the Role:

Qantas Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our VIC/SA/TAS Regional Safety Advisory Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development, implementation, and oversight of safety strategies for the Qantas Group regional business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development, implementation, and oversight of the Qantas safety strategy for system, framework, policies, and/or procedures
  • Enhance assurance and incident activities, providing safety data and analytical support
  • Coordinate risk management processes and record keeping
  • Partner with safety advisors to ensure regulatory compliance and delivery of a proactive safety culture across the Qantas team

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Cert IV in Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a Safety Coordination position, ideally within an operational environment
  • Sound understanding and application of WHS legislation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to take direction from others
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, interpret, and present data
  • Ability to collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to show initiative and flexibility
  • A positive, results-focused disposition
