Job Overview

We are seeking an expert Technical Advisor to provide high-quality technical advice and support for Configuration Management (CM) activities across Defence acquisition and sustainment projects.

The successful candidate will develop and implement CM plans, processes, and tools in line with Defence standards, ensuring compliance with industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain Configuration Items (CIs), supporting configuration status accounting and facilitating Change Control Boards (CCBs).
  • Evaluate the traceability of documentation and data across system lifecycles, ensuring accurate records and artefacts.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, subcontractors, and government representatives to maintain compliance and support system assurance objectives.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Previous experience in a technical advisory role within the Defence industry, preferably with a focus on Configuration Management.
  • Relevant qualifications in Engineering, Systems Management, or a related technical discipline, such as Engineering, Systems Management or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Configuration Management practices, including tools like Teamcenter, Windchill, or IBM Rational.
  • A strong understanding of Defence acquisition frameworks, particularly within the CASG/One Defence Capability System environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and system design documentation.
