Regional Operations Supervisor

The Australian Bureau of Statistics is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Supervisor to oversee the delivery of field operations in regional and remote areas.

This vital role requires local knowledge, connections, and strong project management skills. As a Regional Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing operations in your area of responsibility, leading small teams and providing support to ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting, training, and managing a team of field staff
  • Developing and reviewing work plans for your area of responsibility
  • Connecting with the community and establishing networks
  • Promoting participation in the Census within the community
  • Working collaboratively with other Census staff

You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment, managing daily Work Health and Safety requirements, and completing administration tasks as directed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
  • Sound local area knowledge and map reading skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently
