Census Field Operations Manager

Job Description:

As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality field operations in regional and remote areas. Utilizing your local knowledge and connections, you will coordinate and manage operations in your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities include leading small teams responsible for Census collection activities within your area, providing project management, training, planning, and administrative support to your teams. You will also conduct daily quality checks, ensure workplace health and safety compliance, and oversee logistical activities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Recruit, train, and manage a small team of field staff.
  • Work remotely and/or travel to various work areas as required.
  • Develop, update, and review work plans for your area of responsibility.
  • Connect with the community, establish networks, and maintain those relationships.
  • Promote participation in the Census within the community.
  • Work collaboratively with other Census and ABS staff in your area, providing important cultural considerations and/or area-level intelligence.
  • Gather support for the Census from Local Government and community organizations, as well as key service providers.
