Regional Field Operations Coordinator

As a Census Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing field operations in regional and remote areas. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality data collection and submission.
Job OverviewThis position involves project management, providing training, planning, and administrative support to teams. Daily quality checks are necessary to ensure workplace health and safety compliance, along with logistical activities, team management, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Project coordination and management, including staff training and development
- Daily quality control checks to maintain workplace health and safety standards
- Logistical activities, team leadership, and community outreach
You will lead small teams responsible for census collection activities within your area of responsibility. Your duties include recruiting, training, and managing field staff, as well as promoting participation in the census among local communities.
As a Census Operations Manager, you will collaborate closely with our other census and ABS staff, taking into account important cultural considerations and/or area-level intelligence. You will also gather support from local government and community organizations, as well as key service providers.
Key Qualities and Experience- Solid understanding of the local area and ability to navigate maps effectively
- Prior experience in communicating and developing relationships with people in the workplace and community
- Able to work independently, prioritize tasks with limited guidance, and make decisions autonomously
- Strong project management skills, particularly in an operational setting
