About This Role

As a skilled Special Class Welder, you will be responsible for assembling and welding metal components in a fast-paced construction environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of experts and contribute to the completion of complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various welding tasks using techniques such as FCAW, GTAW, and SMAW according to project requirements and material specifications.
  • Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and shaping metals to precise measurements.
  • Maintain accurate records of consumables, feeds, amperages, and preheat in accordance with applicable weld procedures.
  • Weld piping and components in sequence to minimize shrinkage and distortion.
  • Remove tack welds, clean, and restore weld preparations where necessary.
  • Implement quality control systems and techniques to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Adhere to workplace safety protocols and prioritize the safety of yourself and colleagues.
  • Regularly maintain and repair welding equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, QA/QC inspectors, and construction management teams, to achieve project objectives and timelines.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in welding and fabrication.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes, techniques, and procedures.
  • Able to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Superior communication and teamwork abilities.
