System Forecast Analyst

As a System Forecast Analyst, you will be responsible for the accuracy of forecasts produced by UDF systems.

Key areas include maintaining and optimising key inputs to forecast systems, e.g. Event parameters, seasonal profiles and historical sales cleansing; Statistical Algorithm tuning and selection.

  • Improve Forecasting Models & Algorithms
  • Determine forecast methodologies to accurately predict weekly and daily sales for all Big W products and stores
  • Monitor performance/accuracy of forecasting system output - develop robust assessment methodologies and mechanisms to record and benchmark forecast performance against expected results
  • Monitor & tune demand models and algorithms ensuring appropriate responsiveness to customer sales behavior both observed and anticipated
  • Gather, extract and manipulate required information to form a fact base for the assessment and modeling of forecast decisions
  • Review existing data & settings changes - model potential changes and identify/quantify improvements
  • Determine specific abnormalities impacting accuracy and implement remedies in the system
  • Assist Sales & Demand Planning Analysts in finding root cause of forecast inaccuracies by deciphering models to determine how the forecast has been generated

You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide informed recommendations on forecasting strategies.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of forecasting methodologies and statistical algorithms
  • Experience working with large datasets and developing predictive models
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into simple language
