About the Role

As Lead Marketing Strategist - Consumer Experience and Social Media, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our marketing strategy to drive positive reputational impact, brand advocacy, and key commercial outcomes across Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer program.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to engage consumers, enhance brand reputation, and drive business growth.
  • Provide expert communications counsel to senior leadership teams on key matters impacting business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic campaigns, activations, and PR initiatives that drive brand health and growth within tight deadlines.
Requirements
  • 10-12 years of experience in senior leadership roles in consumer marketing, social media, or related fields within large, complex organizations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Proven expertise in content creation, social media management, community engagement, crisis management, media relations, and issues management.
  • Strong understanding of C-suite communications strategies and ability to develop and execute effective communications plans.
  • Familiarity with high-profile public-facing retail brands and experience supporting communications for large-scale organizational change.
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships with senior executive leaders, stakeholders, and external partners.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including influencing at a senior level, driving engagement, and articulating complex concepts.
