Expert Legal Advisor Opportunity

The position entails providing expert advice and representation on vital issues affecting land, water, and Indigenous community rights across the top half of the Northern Territory.

This role will contribute to delivering meaningful social, cultural, and economic outcomes.

About the Position

You'll be responsible for supporting Traditional Owners and communities in native title claims under the Aboriginal Land Rights (Northern Territory) Act 1976 (Cth)

Negotiating agreements for mining, energy, and renewable energy activities is also a key aspect of this role.

You will provide administrative and environmental advice and strategic litigation services.

Requirements
  • A current practice certificate in an Australian jurisdiction is mandatory.
  • At least two years post-admission experience in legal practice is required.
  • An ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders, including Traditional Owners, government, and proponents is essential.
