Underground Drill Fitter

We are seeking a highly skilled Underground Drill Fitter to join our maintenance team at various locations within WA.

  • Servicing, maintenance and fault finding on underground drilling equipment is a key responsibility of this role.
  • The successful candidate will ensure all servicing, repairs and testing is completed and relevant paperwork returned to the scheduler.
  • Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on drill rigs need to be diagnosed and repaired by the candidate.
  • The Underground Drill Fitter must maintain underground drilling equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Candidates should be able to coordinate with teams, communicate effectively, and ensure seamless drilling operations.
  • Participation in ordering and maintenance of relevant parts/stock is also expected.
  • Management of costs and quality of repairs being undertaken is a critical aspect of this role.
  • Daily completion reports and time sheets need to be submitted by the candidate.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of proven experience working on drill rigs, preferably underground.
  • Basic hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and component rebuilds are essential skills for this role.
  • Effective troubleshooting and quick problem resolution skills are necessary.
  • A current manual C Class Driver License is required.
  • National Police Clearance (within last 6 months) is mandatory.
  • The candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screen).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment is crucial.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Commitment to safety standards and hazard identification is vital.
  • Attention to detail and time management are necessary skills for this role.
