Job Title: Drilling Operations Specialist

About the Role:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Drilling Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and fault finding on underground Diamond Drilling equipment.
  • You will ensure all servicing, repairs and testing is completed and paperwork returned to the scheduler in a timely manner.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on drill rigs is also a critical aspect of this role.
  • Maintaining underground drilling equipment to ensure optimal functionality is essential to the success of our operations.
  • You will coordinate with teams, communicate effectively and ensure seamless drilling operations.
  • Participating in ordering and maintenance of relevant parts/stock is also an important responsibility.
  • Managing costs and quality of repairs being undertaken is a key performance indicator.
  • Daily completion reports and submission of time sheets are also required.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working on drill rigs, preferably underground, is essential.
  • Basic hydraulic and electrical diagnostics and component rebuilds are a must.
  • Effective troubleshooting and quick problem resolution skills are critical.
  • A current manual C Class Driver License is also required.
  • A National Police Clearance (within the last 6 months) is necessary.
  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screen) is essential.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and within a team environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills are vital.
  • A commitment to safety standards and hazard identification is crucial.
  • Attention to detail and time management are essential.
