About the Role

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a skilled Youth Care Specialist to join our Residential Program, supporting young people in care.

Job Description

This role involves working in a large team to provide a stable, nurturing environment for young people who have experienced significant trauma.

As a Youth Care Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting young people with their daily needs, while also providing guidance and support to help them develop life skills.

You will work closely with colleagues, team leaders, and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for the young people in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting young people with their daily needs, including personal care and hygiene
  • Providing guidance and support to help young people develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, and budgeting
  • Working closely with colleagues and team leaders to develop and implement individualized plans for each young person
  • Participating in regular supervision and training sessions to improve practice and enhance skills
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting on young people's progress

Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar qualification
  • Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma and adversity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build rapport with young people and colleagues
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
