
Care Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Out-of-Home Care Specialist to join our team. This permanent full-time position will be based in Ipswich.
This role involves leading and supporting intervention planning to ensure high-quality care and support for children, young people, and their approved carers.
You will provide direct support to children and young people with their carers/families to bring about therapeutic change as informed by the Mercy Community Model of Practice. This model is needs-based, trauma-sensitive, and relationship/attachment-focused to assist them to reach their full potential.
To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following Key Selection Criteria:
- Hold a 3-year degree within the Human Services Sector and at least 2 years' previous relevant experience, or a 4-year degree with at least 1 year's previous relevant experience.
- Have experience working with positive behavior management strategies and support.
- Be able to provide case assessment/work services to children and families within a child protection framework.
- Have experience in child and carers' intervention plans based on assessments within a structured assessment framework.
- Understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and societies, and have a commitment to culturally appropriate engagement and practice.
- Hold current vaccination against Whooping Cough and COVID-19, or be willing to obtain prior to commencement.
- Hold a current Queensland Provisional Green or above Driver's Licence.
- Hold a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and be able to obtain a positive Police Check and any other legislatively required personal history screening.

This position offers a competitive annual salary of $77,578 to $83,486, plus superannuation in line with level 4 of our Enterprise Agreement (dependent on qualifications and experience).
