Job Title: Volunteer Sector Development Officer

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting and raising the profile of volunteering across Boroondara.

About the Role:
  • This officer will be responsible for developing activities that raise the profile of volunteering, support community strengthening, social inclusion, and wellbeing objectives across Boroondara.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and experience in volunteer management, event planning, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop initiatives responding to current and emerging trends in volunteering.
  2. Organise large events to connect prospective volunteers, including professionals, to community organisations, recognising and promoting volunteering.
  3. Build capacity of volunteer-involving organisations and departments by providing training, resources, and support.
  4. Support internal volunteer management, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  5. Develop and enhance the Boroondara Volunteer Skills framework.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in volunteer management, event planning, or community engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized and able to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the local community and its needs.
