About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Junior DevOps Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure 'as code' for our application platform.

You will assist with the deployment and operations of cloud services using Terraform, AWS, CloudFormation, Bitbucket, Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, and networking components.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers to deliver, operate, and monitor services that meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and build infrastructure 'as code' for our application platform.
  • Maintain and improve developer experience through networking/routing and discovery.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver, operate, and monitor services.
  • Build automation to execute common operations on various AWS services.
  • Leverage your experience to evaluate new offerings from AWS and advise on adoption.
  • Share technical solutions and product ideas through documentation, design reviews, pair programming, code review, and technology discussions.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 1+ years' experience in a Software Engineering role, preferably within a modern SaaS environment.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD tooling (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, TravisCI, BitBucket Pipelines, AWS Pipelines).
  • Familiarity with storage engines (e.g., Postgres, Elasticsearch, Aurora, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Understanding of containerisation with technologies like docker-compose, Kubernetes, ECS, Fargate.
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux Environments.
  • Enthusiasm about building infrastructure as code with modern automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
