Beef City Feedlot offers an exciting opportunity for skilled livestock professionals to develop their expertise in cattle handling, horsemanship, and animal health diagnosis.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced pen rider to join our team. As a key member of our feedlot operation, you will be responsible for daily livestock handling, including pen riding and stock movements.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily livestock handling, including pen riding and stock movements;
  • Diagnosis of animal health symptoms;
  • Administration of animal health treatments;
  • Maintaining accurate records of animal treatments and stock movements;
  • Maintaining compliance with industry standards, including WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations.

Requirements:

  • Proven skills in horsemanship and cattle handling;
  • Sound communication, organisational & interpersonal skills;
  • Strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition;
  • Able to work well within a team environment;
  • Ability to learn new skills;
  • Good work ethic;
  • Own transport, including horse transport, and a minimum of two suitable horses and own tack/saddlery.
