Job Role:

Delivering Quality Healthcare

  • This role promotes safe, rational and cost-effective drug therapy by providing specialist clinical pharmacy services to Geriatric Medicine and/or Surgical Medicine units.

The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring patients' total medication profiles, providing drug information and undertaking teaching and research activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Planning, implementing and evaluating patient safety and quality of care initiatives within Geriatric Medicine and/or Surgical Medicine units.
  • Providing clinical expertise and leadership in the provision of Pharmacy Services to Geriatric Medicine and/or Surgical Medicine units, supervising, training, educating and supporting pharmacy staff and other disciplines.
  • Ensuring practice adheres to the relevant registration standards, codes and guidelines, including the Pharmacy Board of Australia Registration Standards and SMHS policies and guidelines.

Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and possess strong clinical and leadership skills.
