Strategic Planning Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our planning unit, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist advice on strategic planning matters and undertaking various planning tasks.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and proven negotiation and financial management experience. They will also possess advanced knowledge of Town Planning Administrative and Statutory procedures.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results. You will also need to be proficient in the Western Australian Planning system, including Town Planning legislation, acts, and statutes, statutory procedures, and policies.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist advice on strategic planning matters and undertake various planning tasks.
  • Formulate, assess, and review Planning Policies, Structure Plans, and Town Planning Scheme Amendments.
  • Prepare and project manage various strategic planning studies.

Requirements:

  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Extensive practical experience in the profession of Town Planning, preferably in strategic planning.
  • Extensive understanding of the Western Australian Planning system, including Town Planning legislation, acts, and statutes, statutory procedures, and policies.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with Strategic Planning projects such as structure planning, major planning projects, and policy development.
