Job Overview

The role of Environmental Planning Officer provides a unique opportunity to influence environmental issues through impact assessments, advice on strategic and statutory planning, and management of specific projects. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of environmental and planning legislation are essential for success in this position.

  • Comprehensive understanding of planning legislation and its relationship to environmental legislation is crucial.
  • Knowledge of environmental management plans, reports, strategies, and policies is required.
  • Sound knowledge of environmental impact assessment is necessary.
  • Experience in land use planning, environmental management, strategic planning, and/or environmental planning at various levels is expected.
Key Responsibilities

This position requires:

  • Undertaking environmental impact assessments and providing advice on strategic and statutory planning.
  • Managing specific environmental projects, including the preparation of environmental management plans, strategies, and policies.
  • Demonstrating strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and advanced interpersonal skills.
Requirements
