Senior Governance and Risk Manager

Role Overview:
This leadership position is responsible for overseeing governance, legal, and risk management across the organisation. Key objectives include maintaining governance frameworks, managing internal audit, and providing strategic advice to senior executives.
- Maintain governance frameworks and manage internal audit
- Lead policy review, delegations, insurance oversight, councillor support, and elections coordination
- Provide strategic guidance to executive teams, manage resources, and deliver mandatory training to staff, councillors, and volunteers
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold tertiary qualifications in governance or business, have extensive relevant local government experience, and possess strong communication skills. Proven expertise in governance, investigations, GIPA, Public Interest Disclosures, risk, and insurance are also essential.
A practical leader with excellent time management skills, budgeting acumen, and a Class C driver's licence is required for this position.
