The role of Behaviour Support Practitioner involves providing person-centred services to individuals with complex needs. This includes behaviour support for children and adults, conducting assessments and identifying appropriate interventions, designing and implementing intervention plans, and facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities.

  • Providing behaviour support and psycho-social support for clients with complex disability and mental health issues;
  • Conducting assessments and identifying appropriate supports, interventions, and service models;
  • Designing and implementing intervention plans and strategies;
  • Facilitating the delivery of clinical frameworks and activities;
  • Providing client support including clinic or home-based sessions, training and resource development;
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to optimise outcomes.
">Required Skills and Qualifications">

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related field relevant to behaviour support;
  • Experience providing direct behaviour support and registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner;
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, and/or experiences of trauma who have complex needs;
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other neurodiverse populations;
  • Experience providing clinical and/or behaviour assessment, intervention, and support in the disability sector;
  • Desirable experience in providing practice or clinical supervision to other practitioners.
