IT Security Governance Specialist

The position involves shaping and managing IT security policies and systems. The successful candidate will lead cyber security awareness initiatives, provide expert advice on security measures, and ensure alignment with key standards and privacy regulations.

About the Job:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive IT security policies and procedures that align with industry standards.
  • Support and improve the organization's Information Security Management System (ISMS) by leveraging frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy.
  • Develop and execute effective training programs to enhance staff knowledge of cyber security concepts.
  • Provide expert guidance on security controls and ensure compliance with relevant privacy and security requirements.
  • Assist in audit processes by gathering evidence, identifying risks, and recommending improvements.
About You:
  • You possess experience in developing and maintaining IT security policies and procedures.
  • You have familiarity with ISO 27001, NIST, Essential 8, and NSW Cyber Security Policy frameworks.
  • You can run effective training programs for staff to educate them on cyber security best practices.
  • You understand risk management principles and have experience working with privacy laws and regulations in IT.
  • You are skilled at supporting security audits and recommending improvements.
  • You have excellent communication skills, enabling you to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are a team player who can collaborate across teams and build relationships with external partners.
  • You stay updated with changes in legislation, industry standards, and best practices in cyber security.
