Our Public Health and Environment team is seeking a talented Graduate Environmental Health Officer to join our diverse community. This exciting opportunity allows you to contribute meaningfully to the health and safety of our local residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections and enforcement actions for food premises, skin penetration businesses, public pools, cooling towers, and boarding houses.
  • Support investigations into environmental issues and major pollution incidents.
  • Collaborate on educational programs promoting public and environmental health.
  • Provide input on development applications involving contaminated land or environmental concerns.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and represent the organization in formal meetings when required.
  • Liaise with external agencies and community stakeholders on public health matters.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure legislative compliance.

To succeed in this role, you will have recently completed a tertiary qualification in Environmental Health or Public Health, with a solid understanding of relevant legislation, including the Local Government Act, Food Act, and Public Health Act. You will also possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent problem-solving and investigative skills, and a current Class C Driver's Licence.
