This role is for a skilled Senior Physiotherapist to work in the care of older people in surgery service at NSW Health.

The successful candidate will collaborate with geriatrics and surgical teams to deliver holistic, timely care to patients aged 75 and over with a frailty score of 3 or higher. Their goal will be to reduce post-operative complications, facilitate early discharge, and improve outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and educate junior staff and students in managing complex respiratory cases among geriatric and post-surgical patients.">
  • Contribute to service planning, implementation, and evaluation.">
  • Develop clinical physiotherapy policies and procedures.">
  • Provide advice to healthcare managers on clinical service development, practice, and design in response to demands and stakeholder needs in relation to a Physiotherapy service.">

Requirements:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy and current National Physiotherapy Registration with AHPRA.">
  • Significant postgraduate experience in Physiotherapy, with substantial experience in Surgical & Aged Care physiotherapy.">
  • Strong communication skills, time management, and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.">
  • Commitment to professional development and knowledge of Quality Improvement and Evidence-Based Practice.">
