Textile Engineer Position

We are seeking an inventive and technically skilled Textile Engineer to join our dynamic product design and hardware engineering team within a leading organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop soft good concepts, applying knowledge of materials (fibers, yarns, fabrics, foams) and textile manufacturing & integration methods (welding, bonding, taping, overmoulding, thermoforming, wrapping, etc.).
  • Investigate, prototype, and evaluate new materials and soft good concepts to support goals around comfort, durability, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal manufacturing specialists to optimize designs for functionality, aesthetics, and scalable production.
  • Develop technology to ensure textile materials and processes are feasible for mass manufacturing.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Textile Engineering, Textile Chemistry, Materials Science, Fashion/Apparel Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in product development roles within the fashion, activewear, medical, or technical textile sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of textile manufacturing methods and soft good integration methods (e.g., knitting, braiding, coating, finishing, US and RF welding, bonding, seam taping, laminating, thermoforming, shaping, integrating different textiles together, overmoulding with plastics).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate materials research into functional, manufacturable product components.
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build effective relationships both internally across teams and departments, and externally with partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry connections with textile suppliers, integrators, and research institutions.
  • Experience with digital design tools e.g. Clo3D, Lectra, Creo.
  • Experiences in dealing with elastic (stretchable) and breathable material and product with high intimacy such as inner wear, sport wear & shoe, medical purpose garments, etc.
