IT Security Specialist Position

We are seeking a highly skilled IT security specialist to join our organization.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with various IT security solutions, including web and email services, networking, cloud environments, endpoint protection, data protection; mobile device management, identity and access management, backups.

The successful candidate will work closely with our team to develop and implement effective IT security strategies, ensuring alignment with industry frameworks such as ACSC Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST, and ITIL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert advice on IT security matters.
  • Developing documentation and communications related to IT security solutions, changes, improvements, and impacts.
  • Assisting in the implementation and testing of IT security controls within our IT environment, in line with architectural guidelines and operational needs.
  • Supporting the maintenance, administration, and operations of various IT security controls, including technical assessments of new applications and services entering our IT environment, and security awareness training.
  • Identifying opportunities for task automation and recommending improvements to enhance security operations, controls, and configurations.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in an IT security role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with various IT security solutions, including but not limited to web, email, network, cloud, endpoint, data protection; mobile device management, identity and access management, backups.
  • Experience with IT security frameworks: ACSC Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST, and ITIL. Relevant experience and knowledge ideally supported by relevant IT security certifications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and deal with ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize business needs, risks, and opportunities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
