About This Opportunity:

This role requires an experienced IT Security professional who has worked with a wide range of security solutions, including web and email services, networking, cloud environments, endpoint detection and response (EDR)/extended detection and response (XDR), data protection; mobile device management, identity and access management, backups.

The ideal candidate will work in line with prominent IT Security frameworks, such as the Australian Cyber Security Centre's (ACSC) Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST, and ITIL. Relevant experience and knowledge should be supported by recognized IT Security certifications from organizations like ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, CompTIA, Microsoft, or IT Security vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing specialist advice and supporting the delivery of information security projects to enhance the maturity of the IT environment in areas such as endpoint management, application control, and vulnerability management.
  • Developing documentation and communications regarding IT Security solutions, changes, improvements, and impacts.
  • Assisting with the implementation and testing of IT security controls within the IT environment, aligning with architectural guidelines and operational needs.
  • Supporting maintenance, administration, and operations of various information security controls, including technical assessments of new applications and services entering the IT environment, and security awareness training.
  • Identifying opportunities for task automation and recommending enhancements to improve security operations, controls, and configurations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • More than 5 years of experience in an IT Security role
  • Experience working with various IT Security solutions, including web, email, network, cloud, endpoint, data protection; mobile device management, identity and access management, backups.
  • Familiarity with prominent IT Security frameworks: ACSC Essential Eight, ISO 27001, NIST, and ITIL. Relevant experience and knowledge should ideally be supported by recognized IT Security certifications from organizations like ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, CompTIA, Microsoft, or IT Security vendors.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and deal with complexity and ambiguity
  • Ability to identify and prioritize business needs, risks, and opportunities
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
