Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Child and Family Specialist. As a key member of our early learning service, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality social and emotional learning services to young children.
Working closely with educators and centre directors, your focus will be on enhancing infant mental health outcomes for vulnerable children and families. You will utilize evidence-informed strategies to engage and sustain participation from children and their families within the early education setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting educators to build capability in observing, identifying, and explaining concerns related to child learning, development, and well-being.
- Promoting an integrated approach to deliver improved outcomes for children and families.
- Undertaking observations and providing feedback to support child-educator relationships.
- Providing consultation and coaching on social and emotional learning practices.
- Creating strong external linkages to community supports and services.
- Supporting educators to communicate with parents around child needs.
- Making referrals to allied health services as required.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, psychology, or equivalent fields.
- Strong understanding of child development, birth-5 years.
- Good knowledge of relevant early childhood frameworks and standards.
- Demonstrated high interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and coaching skills.
- Ability to document, analyse, and report on key performance indicators.
