Director of Operational Excellence

Key Position Description:
The role of Assistant Director - System Improvement involves leading the development and implementation of operational improvement strategies across school systems, providing high-level strategic advice to senior directors and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities include undertaking complex project work, developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships, and researching topics related to system improvement.
- Lead the design and execution of operational improvement strategies for schools
- Provide expert guidance on school policies, procedures, and systems to senior directors and stakeholders
- Undertake and lead significant project work aligned with divisional priorities
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships within the agency and externally
- Conduct research and prepare comprehensive briefings, reports, and papers
- Demonstrated expertise in writing and ability to quickly acquire knowledge of government protocols and procedures
- High level understanding of project management approaches and problem-solving techniques
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of the Department of Education and Training's objectives and context of issues related to remote areas
- Proven leadership skills to influence others in a climate of change and complexity
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for diverse stakeholders
This position may require overnight travel and possession of a current Working with Children Clearance Notice (Ochre Card) or ability to obtain is mandatory.
