Energy Transition Insights Role

Job Description:

Based in Sydney, Australia, you will contribute to enhancing clients' decision-making by developing analysis and conveying insights. You will play an active role in all aspects of client engagement: identifying issues, forming hypotheses, conducting analysis, and synthesising conclusions into recommendations.

You will work in a dynamic, intellectually stimulating, and demanding yet supportive environment. Enjoy autonomy and the opportunity to substantially influence major decisions in the energy sector.

The position would suit either a recent STEM graduate or a professional with up to three years of experience in the energy sector, management consulting, financial services, or a similar field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop timely and rigorous quantitative analyses to enhance clients' decision making
  • Work closely with our modelling team to structure economic problems into quantifiable analyses and derive insights from model results
  • Contribute to product development by identifying new opportunities and expanding capabilities
  • Engage with clients to thoroughly understand their requirements
  • Communicate findings to clients
Required Skills and Qualifications

Attributes:

  • First-class or high second-class degree in a quantitative subject (Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Finance), coupled with a keen interest in energy markets and policy developments
  • 1-2 years of work experience in the energy sector or another professional field
  • An ability to collect, analyse and interpret complex quantitative data and information
  • Evidence of strong performance in team-oriented environments
  • An ability to communicate and collaborate with both technical and non-technical parties
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Desirable Attributes:

  • Fluency in a second language beneficial but not essential
  • Skills in data analytics and related software (e.g., Python, Excel, SQL, Power BI)
  • Existing knowledge or experience in the power sector or a related field
