About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Pricing Actuary to join our team at SafetyCulture. As a key member of our Pricing and Portfolio Management function, you will play a critical role in building and maintaining our insurance pricing and portfolio management infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert recommendations to management on initiatives and insights to improve top and bottom line performance of our insurance products.
  • Establish and maintain pricing and portfolio management infrastructures, including portfolio datasets in collaboration with our data and analytics team.
  • Conduct pricing and portfolio reviews for all key insurance products and portfolios, providing high-quality insights and practical recommendations.
  • Be the subject matter expert for product pricing and assist underwriters and key stakeholders with pricing enquiries.
  • Work collaboratively with our product, underwriting, and system teams to implement pricing and portfolio changes, ensuring pricing governance processes are fit for purpose and executed with sufficient testing and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain statistical and financial models to solve business problems, leveraging your expertise in Microsoft Excel, VBA, Python, and R programming.
  • Handle large volumes of data with expertise in SQL and ETL tools, and work independently on technical pricing and portfolio projects.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of general insurance commercial lines pricing experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to build statistical and financial models from scratch to solve business problems.
  • Expert competency with Microsoft Excel and ability to program in VBA.
  • Ability to work independently on most Python or R programming.
  • Comfortable handling large volumes of data with good expertise in SQL and ETL tools.
  • Must be a team player, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Motivation to expand, learn, and grow with a high-performing team.
  • Able to prioritize and be comfortable in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity and work collaboratively and independently as required.
