Skilled Mechanical Technician Position

A career opportunity exists for a Skilled Mechanical Technician to ensure the reliability and capability of equipment in a beef and lamb processing operation.

  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime by providing effective and efficient preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Carry out mechanical work to maintain equipment and facilities in optimum condition for their intended use.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical trade qualifications and post-trade experience of at least 2 years, along with experience in maintenance and repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. They should also possess sound computer skills, effective fault-finding and diagnostic abilities, as well as thorough knowledge of WHS regulations and procedures.

Benefits include retail discounts, health insurance discounts, and time and a half on Saturdays and Sundays.

This is a full-time position with opportunities for overtime and professional growth.

About you:

  • Mechanical trade qualifications and post-trade experience of a minimum of 2 years
  • Experience in maintenance and repair in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of work planning and scheduling procedures
  • Thorough understanding of maintenance work management practices
  • Sound computer skills
  • Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures
  • Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired
