Job Role:

Agricultural Feedlot Operator sought for a dynamic feedlot operation. This role involves assisting with daily cattle feeding, machinery operation and general farm duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the efficient operation of tractors, loaders, water trucks and other heavy equipment
  • Ensure grain processing equipment is operational at all times
  • Mix and deliver feed to cattle in a safe and timely manner
  • Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance tasks on pens, bunks and troughs
  • Participate in stock handling and record keeping activities
  • Provide support for pen riding, cattle mustering and processing activities
  • Diagnose and treat sick animals as needed
  • Perform scheduled cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Undertake welding and fencing tasks as required
  • Assist with additional farm-related duties as directed by management

Requirements and Skills:

  • Prior experience in a similar role would be highly advantageous
  • Cattle experience, patience and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Responsible operation of front end loaders, tractors and feed wagons
  • Able to make accurate observations and follow established protocols

Benefits Package:

This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $28+, single-person accommodation and meals provided on-site. A vehicle is essential due to the remote location of the feedlot (ideally a 4WD).
