Job Summary:

  • The Tyre Fitter is responsible for maintaining the tyres of rubber vehicles in an open pit environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Regularly inspect work areas to identify hazards, damage, and defects.
  2. Conduct weekly inspections of tools to ensure health and safety compliance.
  3. Perform routine maintenance on tyres and assist with heavy machinery fleet repairs as needed.
  4. Inspect tools and equipment regularly to ensure proper functionality.
  5. Allocate parts to work orders efficiently.
  6. Review work tasks for improvement opportunities.
  7. Communicate effectively with supervisors.
  8. Maintain accurate records of tyre fittings and rim registers in the CMMS.
  9. Monitor HME tyres for wear rates, tread depths, and air pressures weekly.
  10. Ensure adequate stock levels of tyres and consumables.
  11. Perform other tasks as required to support operations.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role or trade qualification in automotive tyre servicing technology.
  • Previous experience with CMMS, tyre management software, or equivalent.
  • Current unrestricted Western Australian Class 'HR' Driver's Licence.
  • Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Good understanding of relevant machinery, including CAT trucks and graders, Hitachi excavators, and Komatsu PC1250 excavators.

  5. Up to 10% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of base salary.

  8. Pro-rata long service leave after 5 years of service and 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years.
