Job Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Waste Coordinator to drive waste compliance at our facility in the Northern Melbourne Suburb of Craigieburn.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and classify regulated and hazardous waste, ensuring correct storage and segregation in accordance with Australian regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the waste storage area and safety equipment, adhering to Australian regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Log and containerize all regulated and hazardous wastes using a digital waste reporting tool.
  • Arrange waste collection, sending logs, scheduling pick-ups, and following up on paperwork.
  • Maintain and upload shipment documents to the Shared Folder and digital waste reporting tool.
  • Conduct site-based environmental inspections, raise findings, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve effective environmental management.
  • Liaise with internal teams including Site Workplace Health and Safety, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance, Inbound Support Services, Vendor Returns, and Facilities teams.
  • Support in preparing monthly waste inventory and identifying shipping frequency to comply with accumulation requirements.
  • Work with WHS, Operations, ICQA, Vendor Returns, and Customer Returns teams to set up a Products Awaiting Determination Staging Area.
  • Regularly engage with site leadership to provide Environmental updates and visibility of Environmental Performance status and requirements.
  • Train on digital waste reporting tool and AU Hazardous Waste Procedure.
  • Complete Dangerous Goods (DG)/ HazMat Training.
  • Research trends, inventory loss, and cost reduction efforts.
  • Assist with incidental spill/leak/release clean-up activities.
  • Deep-dive waste data and identify opportunities for waste reduction onsite.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and experience in waste management or a related field. Proficiency in digital tools and Microsoft Office is essential.
