
Community Mental Health Specialist

Two newly created roles will support individuals, families, and groups in regional and remote communities. These positions combine face-to-face and telehealth care, working closely with internal teams and local services to deliver accessible mental health support.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver evidence-based mental health interventions, manage a full client caseload, and monitor clinical risk in consultation with supervisors.
- Travel regularly to isolated communities to provide in-person support and refer clients within the stepped care framework.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to promote the service through community engagement.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, uphold confidentiality, and contribute to quality improvement activities.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Mental Health Social Work, Psychology, or Credentialled Mental Health Nursing is required.
- Minimum five years of clinical experience supporting individuals across all age groups in mental health settings is essential.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, intervention, and care planning, with an understanding of challenges faced by rural and remote communities are necessary.
- Satisfactory completion of safety screening checks, including a current Working with Children's Check and National Police Check is mandatory.
