Leading VCE Philosophy Educator Opportunity

This is a high-achieving school in Melbourne’s outer eastern suburbs seeking an accomplished educator to teach VCE Philosophy and potentially contribute to other Humanities subjects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of guiding students through philosophical inquiry, ethical reasoning, and critical thinking.

The role requires the successful applicant to design engaging lessons for Units 1-4, aligning with the VCE Philosophy Study Design, focusing on epistemology, ethics, metaphysics, and philosophy of mind. Key duties include developing students' skills in argument analysis, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning, as well as providing detailed feedback to support student growth and exam readiness.

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans that cater to diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Utilize various teaching strategies, such as discussion-based learning, debate, and independent research, to foster engagement and understanding.
  • Encourage respectful dialogue and critical engagement with philosophical perspectives among students.

For this position, we are looking for a dedicated and passionate educator who is committed to academic excellence, student wellbeing, and holistic development. A key requirement is having proven experience teaching VCE level Philosophy in Australia or New Zealand.
