Debt Capital Markets Specialist

The Debt Capital Markets specialist role involves originating debt transactions for corporations and financial institutions in Australia and New Zealand, focusing on syndicated loans, acquisition finance, leveraged finance, and high-yield bonds. This position requires maintaining a current understanding of trends in the local and international debt capital markets and communicating this via market updates to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing direct coverage of corporate and financial clients in the DCM space.
  • Assisting with the origination and execution of offshore market bond transactions.
  • Maintaining market awareness and providing regular updates to stakeholders.
  • Supporting deal or project teams with analytical and research support.
  • Compiling briefing books and coordinating the creation of pitch books.
  • Performing comparables analyses across borrowers and markets.
  • Developing financial projection models.
  • Liaising with internal and external parties on transactions.
  • Supporting due diligence and negotiations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in finance or law.
  • Strong accounting, finance, quantitative, and business writing skills.
  • Sound technical and valuation skills, as well as a comprehensive understanding of global debt capital markets.
  • Excellent project management capability.
