Bitumen Patching Technician

Role Overview

The Bitumen Patching Technician plays a vital role in the maintenance of urban bitumen patching and is responsible for the safe operation of Council's equipment.

Duties include:

  • Maintaining equipment with daily checks, safety checks, oil and coolant checks, securing loads and equipment.
  • Transporting materials and dispatching coldmix/hotmix material.
  • Operating equipment with the tar patching unit in a safe manner and in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
  • Setting up traffic procedures by setting up correct traffic control on worksites in accordance with traffic control plans.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • MR Truck Licence
  • WHS General Induction for Construction Certificate (White Card)
  • Traffic Control Stop/Slow (Blue Card)
  • Willingness to undertake additional training
  • Demonstrated experience in truck driving
  • Commitment to work health and safety
  • Demonstrated commitment to honesty and integrity
