Senior Financial Strategist

">Role Description:
  • The Senior Financial Strategist plays a pivotal role in connecting finance with broader business operations. This strategic leadership position drives performance, supports growth across insurance portfolios, and embeds financial insight into decision-making.
Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the finance business partnering function, providing expert financial advice to executives and business unit leaders.
  2. Deliver high-quality performance reporting, forecasting, and commercial analysis to support informed decision-making.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate strategy into financial plans.
  4. Oversee financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range planning.
  5. Act as the key liaison with shared services centres to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
  6. Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and outcomes.
  7. Lead and develop a high-performing team of finance business partners, fostering a culture of accountability and commercial acumen.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or Master's degree required.
  • 10-15 years of progressive finance experience, including 5-7 years in leadership within a shared services or business partnering environment.
  • Strong understanding of insurance industry financial operations, including claims, policy administration, and regulatory reporting.
  • Proven success in managing complex financial processes and driving improvements in shared services.
  • Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) and leveraging technology for process optimization.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and financial compliance frameworks.
  • Flexibility to work across global time zones as needed.
