Senior Alignment Designer (Civil/Rail)

Queensland Rail is seeking an experienced Senior Alignment Designer to join our Alignment Design team (Civil). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing civil engineering services that support the delivery of high-quality, commercially focused solutions across our extensive network and other Lines of Business (LOB).

We are transforming Southeast Queensland's rail network, connecting communities and gearing up for the 2032 Olympic Games and beyond. This is an exciting time to join us and contribute to our journey.

Your Opportunity
  • This is a full-time fixed-term Queensland Rail employment commencing December 2024/January 2025 through to January 2026.
  • Brisbane CBD office location.

As a Senior Alignment Designer, you will:

  • Collaborate with a project-based team of engineering professionals, including those in construction, maintenance, asset management, and design.
  • Lead civil/rail alignment design projects, with a specific focus on SEQ track and turnout design.
  • Utilize your expertise in 12D software to develop and deliver detailed design documentation.
  • Engage with stakeholders to influence commercial outcomes, leveraging your strong communication and liaison skills.
  • Manage the design process from concept to delivery, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
What You Will Bring
  • Minimum 8 years of industry experience in civil/rail alignment design.
  • Strong understanding of the rail design process and experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
  • Proficient in 12D software and experienced in delivering projects with a focus on rail/civil alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and ensure alignment with budget, program, and quality expectations.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to support successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Queensland Rail accepted equivalent.

This is a predominantly office-based role that offers you the chance to contribute to rail projects that impact Queensland's infrastructure, while utilizing your extensive design skills to deliver commercially focused solutions.

Occasional outside standard hours, overtime, and weekend work may apply. Due to the timeline of the requirements for this role, we will only be able to accept candidates with unrestricted Australian working rights, sponsorship for this role currently not available.
